Our environmental policy
Sustainability of our products and the reduction of our carbon footprint is a priority at Junkers & Müllers.
Production:
Continual new investments in our equipment aim for energy savings and the reduction of CO2 emissions. Our innovative, highly effective waste air system minimizes damaging emissions and production values that fall far below the limits specified by the TA Luft. The use of dangerous substances such as formaldehyde, CFC, solvents, and lead, cadmium and mercury compounds are completely avoided in the production.
Products:
All JM products are PVC-free and certified per the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, product class IV. They also satisfy the requirements of the REACH directive. The special properties of our sun protection products help to positively influence the energy balance of a building. Our collection of fabrics offers products with optimum light and thermal reflectance values for any room use imaginable. This can reduce costs for heating or air-conditioning significantly. Our PVC-free screen fabrics offer effective glare protection while simultaneously using natural daylight.
Our energy policy DIN EN ISO 50001:2011
Our energy policy aims to continually reduce gas, electricity and water usage as well as the CO2 emissions affiliated with these resources. To do this, we have implemented a certified energy management system per DIN EN ISO 50001:2011, which comprises the following points:
- Measurement and monitoring of energy consumption
- Constant recording of energy flows
- Continual review of energy performance concerning processes and activities
- Installation of intelligent, self-optimizing real-time energy management systems
- Optimization of energy consumption at the production facilities to visualize energy waste to raise awareness among operating personnel
- Planning and implementation of energy conservation measures
- Regular analysis and evaluation of energy-saving measures
Our energy policy applies to every department in our company, every activity, and process, with the cooperation of every employee and service provider.
Our products are certified by Oeko-tex® Standard 100
Since 1972, the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 has offered textile companies the opportunity to have their products human ecological characteristics voluntarily tested and certified. Junkers & Müllers has had its entire product range certified according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 IV and can therefore guarantee that its fabrics do not contain any harmful substances.
The Oeko-Tex® label “Textile Trust” is a global synonym for responsible textiles manufacture – from raw materials through to the finished fabric. For consumers, this label represents important decision guidance. They can rest assured that they are buying high-quality products, which are harmless to their health.

SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold
The SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold certificate states a test regarding harmful emissions of fabrics and products in the interior. Fabrics certified by SCS contribute to a better room air quality. The certificate ensures that JM fabrics are certified according to the below standards and do not exceed the specified limits. It is comparable to Greenguard certificate.
The certification by SCS Global Services is based on the testing of emissions according to Californian Standard CDPH Standard Method v1.2 (CA 01350). This standard is used internationally and acknowledged by most building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, WELL). In Europe, DIN EN ISO 16000-9 (new: DIN EN 16516) states a comparable test on which DGNB and BREEAM are based on.

REACh
Registration - Evaluation - Authorisation of Chemicals
In the EU, the chemicals directive REACh has been binding for all EU member states as of 1st June 2007. The REACh system is based on the principle of own responsibility of the industry. Within the region of validity, and based on the ”no data, no market” principle, only those chemical materials may be brought to the market that has previously been registered. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) issues a so-called “candidate list” naming the “hazardous substances”. Per the REACh directive, each supplier must identify the listed substances in their paperwork as soon as they take up a weight of more than 0.1 % of the overall product.
We can assure you that our products comply with the requirements of REACh directive in its latest version.
